Background

Château Gantonnet dates from the 19th century, situated in Sainte Radegonde, in the heart of Entredeux-Mers appellation. The estate of 83 hectares, (with 70 hectares of red grapes) is overlooking the village where it enjoys excellent exposure to the sun.

Varietal Composition

70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon

Vintage Notes

2015 Vintage : Bud burst began in mid-April leading to flowering at the end of May. Harvesting took place from September 3rd to 16th.

Winemaking

Cold maceration from 2 to 3 days, held at 13°. Around 14 days of alcoholic fermentation, carried out gently over 10 days to obtain best volume. The wine was then aged for 1 year in vats followed by blending of the varieties before bottling.

Tasting Notes

Clear ruby red color, open nose of plum, cedar wood, juniper and marzipan, slender and juicy palate, with soft tannins, on fresh fruit, long aromatic finish.
