At the beginning of the 1940s Estela Perinetti’s grandfather purchased Mangato vineyard, 64 acres of land located in Tupungato to produce Semillón, he named it Finca Mangato. A few decades later, her father, Héctor A. Perinetti MD, planted the first Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Estela and her mother, choose the stoniest and highest (1300 meters) lot to produce the first Malbec of the vineyard, the one that broke with the tradition. This wine is the result of her interpretation of the Bordeaux varieties in such a special terroir.
Located at the foothills of the Andes., in the Tupungato Volcano Valley. Tupungato is the second tallest mountain in the Americas, just a few meters lower than the Aconcagua. El Peral district is located behind the hills that are near the vineyard. The vineyard sources its water directly from Las Tunas River, that passes right next to the property. The water is kept in a reservoir and distributed to the vineyard by drip irrigation. The El Peral district where Mangato vineyard is located is a moderate climate. Winters are cold and usually sunny. Spring and Gall are moderately cool to old but the area is helped by the topography being protected by the El Peral Hills. Frost is a rare event.
Estela Perinetti who is the owner and winemaker is one of the first female winemakers and viticulturists of Argentina. She worked for more than 2 decades with the Catena family leading different wineries.
